DIRECT SERVICE PROFESSIONAL / RETIREMENT SERVICES

Summary:
The Community Specialist position plays a key role on our team.
In this role, you will help persons with disabilities navigate their retirement path.
You will be supporting your assigned customers and their support team with their day-to-day needs.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $18.
50 - $19.
50 an hour.
Additionally, you will be eligible for benefits after 2 months, including medical, dental, Long-term disability, life, 401K, PTO, Short-Term Leave and 8 paid holidays.
You will also be issued a company cell phone and laptop with mileage reimbursed.
There will also be the possibility of career advancement.
Here's what you can expect on a typical day:
Working Monday thru Friday 7:
30 AM to 3:
30 PM- no nights and weekends.
Activities will be in the community; based on the interests of the individuals you work with; you will do the legwork to make sure they can enjoy these activities, whether it be bowling, community service, hiking, or something entirely different.
It's all about making their day great.
Range of direct support.
Some will need help preparing food, administering meds, cutting up food, toileting, and social coaching.
Do required paperwork using a laptop (training provided,) and attend all meetings and training as required.
Managing a case load of 2 to 4 customers.

Writing, submitting, and maintaining status reports.
Maintaining customer files for compliance and licensing.
You are making someone else's day great! KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple competing priorities.
Ability to drive a mini-van and maintain a good driving record.
Physical requirements:
you may need to push a wheelchair, help an individual step into the van.
Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and relationships.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
No experience is necessary as training will be provided but must possess a belief that every person should be treated with dignity and access to work if they choose.
